VenuWorks Promotes Lori Smith-Schollmeyer in Jefferson City
“I look forward to working closely with Lori in her new position in Jefferson City. Lori’s experience from her two seasons at the amphitheater will be integral in a smooth transition following Lynn’s departure,” said Tom Richter, VenuWorks Regional Vice President.
After a career in real estate, Smith-Schollmeyer joined the VenuWorks team in 2021 as a part-time event supervisor. Her previous experience coordinating events provided her with the skills to hire, train, and manage the event services team during the venue’s inaugural season. In October 2021, Lori joined VenuWorks full-time as a sales and event manager.
“I would like to thank VenuWorks and the city of Jefferson City for entrusting me with this amazing opportunity. It has been a privilege to learn from Lynn and I look forward to continuing to work with and learn from the experienced management team at VenuWorks,” said Smith-Schollmeyer. “The 2023 amphitheater season is going to be a new and exciting professional challenge. I cannot wait to welcome patrons to one of the region’s most beautiful outdoor venues.”
Opened in 2021, the Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater accommodates over 500 reserved seats and approximately 2,000 general admission lawn seats and has hosted national touring acts such as Chris Janson, Brian Regan, Aaron Lewis, Buckcherry, and The Mavericks.
“The passion and dedication Lori has exhibited in her current role will be a great asset as she takes the reins in her new position. Her experience will lend to a smooth transition, and we are excited to see the amphitheater flourish under Lori’s leadership,” said Todd Spalding, Director of Parks, Recreation & Forestry.
Smith-Schollmeyer will begin her new role in Jefferson City on February 1st.
