VenuWorks Enters into Management Agreement with Thief Rivers Falls, MN

Iowa-based venue management company, VenuWorks, has been hired by the city of Thief River Falls, Minnesota to manage the Ralph Engelstad Arena, Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center, Thief River Falls Tourist Park and the MEC Center. VenuWorks has significant experience managing multi-purpose facilities that host community, regional, and national events.

We look forward to working with the city and the venue staff increase the number of events at the venues while implementing management practices that will improve the overall operations,” said Steve Peters, President of VenuWorks.

The Ralph Engelstad Arena and Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center hosts over 140,000 sq. ft. for multi-sport activities, shows, events, concerts, consumer shows, banquets, receptions, and corporate meetings. The facilities feature two ice sheets, basketball floor, on site catering kitchen and twelve locker rooms.

The Thief River Falls Tourist Park has 72 camping sites, operating annually from approximately May 15th to September 15th. The MEC Center, 37 acres located along County Rd. 18, was completed in 2000. The complex is home to seven softball fields and one baseball field. It is home to high school, Babe Ruth, Legion, and VFW baseball as well as girls fast pitch softball, and men’s and women’s slow pitch softball.

VenuWorks will assume management of the facilities in January and begin its transition plan. VenuWorks is currently conducting a national search for an Executive Director to lead the team in Thief River Falls.
